On our way out of Hiawatha Trail, we just had to stop at Mt. Saint Helens. I remember when this volcano blew its top back in the ’80s. What I didn’t realize is just how massive this mountain really is. Unfortunately, it was a little cloudy the day we went but we were still able to see everything we wanted to see.
The following day I took a drive to the south side of the mountain to see the lava tubes. There are these giant tube tunnels that you can hike through. We spent about two hours hiking through the tunnels and another hour hiking the lava canyons. Very cool place to visit and the views are spectacular.
